Hi could someone please help me.
Iv built a small sump for my nano its a 3 stage sump.
First stage is filter mat, then ceramic noodles, then live rock. Not sure if i should put live rock or bio balls?
In the second stage i want to put my scrubber, heater and not sure what else?
Should i just put those items or can i put something else to better it?
Third stage is just the return pump.
The sump isnt very big its 350Lx268Wx240H thats all water.

Skimmer goes into first chamber, first mechanical.
Then biological, DSB, live rock, cheato, bio-balls whatever
Then chemical, reactors and return pump.

Heater can go anywhere except return chamber. Cannot risk the chamber running dry, exploding your heater and possibly breaking your sump.

Wat the reason I can't put skimmer after my filtration. Don't want the skimmer to become blocked.

Don't want your biological to become blocked.

So take out the biggest things first, Skimmer and filter wool.
Although I do not like filter wool as it is a schlep to maintain

You should use the LR in the tank as the 'main' biological filter, and not rely exclusively on the LR in the sump. The more the better allround though.
The skimmer before the LR is because the skimmer removes alot of the proteins and other potential nasties that the bacteria in the LR would then have to work hard to remove.
If your skimmer is before the LR, it'll remove most of this stuff and then your LR can do a much better job than it would if it was AFTER the LR, as then the skimmer would be getting 'sloppy second's' which have already been broken down to some degree.
Generally, the bigger the organic, the better the skimmer will be at removing it so having the skimmer before the LR makes more sense if you want the most efficient filtration.
You could have it after but doesn't make as much sense.
You also don't have to worry about the skimmer getting blocked, like it would take some mad big stuff to actually block a skimmer.
I used to run mine straight off the overflow without a problem, just put some mesh over your intake if you haven't got a proper overflow and you'll be fine.
