    Hey Guys,

I need some help with designing a sump, but here is the twist, the sump has already been made and i am looking to modify it accordingly.

The original plan was to run a DSB, but then down the line with the skimmer being to big, there is no space for a DSB, so it leaves me with 2 options:

Option 1: Keep the DSB and change the skimmer
Option 2: Change the filtration and keep the skimmer.

I have the current filtration which i want to use, but the option of changing the skimmer is still open.

    Protein Skimmer: Reef Octo NW 250 (2x OTP3000) - 45cmx45cm footprint
Phosphate Reactor: Reef Octo PHR 100

Here is a drawing of the current sump setup for the new tank:
Sump is 45cm wide by 120cm long

and here is a proposed option for the new sump setup without the DSB

    The tank is 140cm x 60cm x 65cm(h)

The sump as in the first image is the way it is now, i do not want to re-design the entire sump, if i can get away with knocking the dividers out i will do that, as a LAST resort i will get a new sump made.

I would like to know if the filtration in the second option is good enough for a sps system, also to run a pellet reactor, my only concern then is space?

I hope you guys can help with this one,

    Thanks.
    Nick

Second option looks good. Maybe run some cheato with miracle mud in the refugium.

If you going to run a pellet reactor then I wouldn't put the refugium in. I would just go for a two compartment sump.
