I did a sump clean over the weekend and I chipped the one corner of my sump putting it back in, it didn't look bad at first but has now formed a crack from one side of the sump base to the other.

Luckily it isn't leaking too badly at the moment but I want to get it fixed as soon as possible. Would getting a glass pane the same size of the base and siliconing the two together be an adequate long term fix or should I replace the entire pane? I'm not really too worried how it looks as it's just the sump.

Here's a pic of the crack

I agree. Just seal the new base sides properly or else you will have water go through to the old piece and that is irritating.
