    1. Run some carbon and phos remover in reactors if you can.

    2. To small for DSB, so will have no effect on your tank.

    3. ATU in last chamber heater in second chamber.

2nd chamer you can fill up with LR and heaters you can run where you have space and heaters wont be exposed.

What equipment do you currently have? What skimmer etc?
First compartment looks a bit cramped...ideally it should should house a filter sock amd skimmer, but depending on space and what skimmer you have, you might need to add skimmer to chamber two.
My choice would be to add biocubes in chamber two and leave last chamber for return pump and seem carbon and phos media.

ok so this is my plan please advise....

    Compartment 1 : Skimmer
Compartment 2: Purigen, Matrix, (also some sort of carbon & phos media I'm thinking sachem phosgaurd and matrix carbon)
    Compartment 3: Return Pump

Please advise... is compartment 2 a bit of a overkill in terms of media?

Maybe put media in chamber 3 and make chamber 2 a refugium/liverock

Firstly you can change all this if you want to!
You get a small steak knife or any small knife really and grind it or do it on a concrete path.
Make the last ten millimetres ultra thin and one edge very sharp.
Now if you like, look at the first part of this.
    http://southeastqueenslandm.aforumfree.com/t1898-pre-filter-building-instructions-for-reef-aquariums

A small deep sand bed is a coffee cup filled with some 4 to 8 mill of coral rubble-calcium media.
They can be any size, the bigger the better but any thing is better then nothing.

I would change your sump inside, it’s very easy to do.
If you don’t, put filter socks before your skimmer, unless you already have them as your water exits the aquarium, they will preserve the skimmers power head impellor region.
