    Montipora and birds nest are good starter SPS. Montipora capricornis(plating monti)
    Acropora are one if the more hard to keep type.

    I would suggest maybe two different colored montis and some birdsnest to start off with and see how it goes.

    Lps I would get some brains and corals from the euphylia family(hammers, frogspawn, torch)
    And lots of zoas!

    Other SPS would be:

    Millepora, acropora, hydnopora. You also get more species of monti.
    All of these dome in various colours.

    Thanks buddy, good start for me :)

    I have a few above you mentioned.
    The monti I am definitely keen on trying a few colours and attaching each close for a nice colour combo effect - as seen here on MASA.

    Will start my hunt with the birdsnest

    Pocillopora is also a nice starter sps. Just make sure the hammers etc. are not too close to any sps.

    @Hails thanks.

    I have not seen many SPS corals at our local LFS, but then again I never check lol.
    If I don't find much, pls have a variety of frags ready for me in September :)
    Will post back here to let you know what I find

    It is a bit of a shock. The number of times I've been called bud or man is amusing :)
