Howzit guys so gonna start cycling my new build next weekend. And need to get my substraite sorted. Realy like the look of sugar fine aragonite and the fact it won't let much kuk settle in it.but always hear fellow reefers complaining of it blowing arround to much? Is this te case, has anyone had sucsess with it???

I recon if your flow will be for SPS, then the sugar fine will fly all over the tank, sand will be blown away from the sides of the tank. my 2c. I will be using it in by dsb.

What corals are you keeping boet? If you are keeping softies/lps etc then you won't have high flow and sugar fine is fine. If you are going to keep SPS as seabass said, the substrate will "fly all over the tank" .. but will eventually settle down and you will have bare bottom areas in your tank. If you are going the SPS road then I would suggest sea floor grade aragonite. Hope this helped :)

Rather go for the Fiji-Pink. It is bright white in the tank and doesn't blow around as much. I have a mix of sugar fine and fiji-pink in my tank. They look identical but the sugar fine gets blown all over the place.

And all substrates trap detritus if they are not blown around
