For anyone that’s tried barefoot water skiing, *flopping across the surface of the water getting dragged behind a boat is no fun but imagine how incredible it could be to fly underwater? With the new*Subwing*you can tune into your inner manta ray, Aquaman or just do your best fishing lure impression.

[IMG]The Subwing was built on the same principles behind airplanes and fish fins — pushing the leading edge down and the Subwing will cause you to dive down, pulling it up lets you surface and by twisting it right or left allows you to spin or change your direction. The device is actually separated into to parts that allow you to move independently for sharper and more dramatic turns.

The company recommends using a 15 ft. tow rope and travelling at around 2 knots but of course, you could use a longer rope for a deeper dive.*You will only need a diving mask so you can see what you are doing and the ability to hold your breath. If you need to equalize your ears while using the Subwing, there is a loop on the back end you can grab with one hand and pinch your nose.

The principle behind the device isn’t new as we’ve seen devices like these being used for researchers doing reef surveys but this model is the first made for high-performance underwater acrobatics.

There are three versions of the Subwing available. A Fiber Glass version will get you in the door at $700 but for a more durable model you might want to look at the Carbon Matte or Carbon Glossy models make from*6K Twill Carbon fiber and respectively retail for $850 and $895.*Put some streamers behind you and become the worlds largest spin bait!
