    Hi guys,

I dont want to use the course crusher coral available at most LFS's as my substrate, i dont like the look and it could trap detritus!!

So what are the alternatives ???

Reggies play sand??? Is it white ?? I am looking for the whitest possible substrate????

any suggestions.... I am in the 4ways area, anyone know of LFS shops which stock really fine substrate in the area?????

Playsand from Reggies or Toys R Us can be used.Needs to be washed thorughly to get that pure white look.Very cheap, R40.00 per 20kg bag.
A more expensive route would be Caribsea Aragonite.
Remember if buffering is not an issue go for playsand.Or you can always do a mix of Playsand and Aragonite to help with buffering.
