    Hi Guys

I am looking to replace my RSM return pump on my RSM 250 tank, I have already replaced the pump that usually sits on the RHS of the thank with an external but I do not have the option to go External on the LHS pump.

It is currently a 2500l/h pump so I would be happy with anything from 2500 - 3000l/h

The reason I am asking in here is I want to know which is the BEST brand when it comes to heat, I am changing out the RSM pump because I am having heat issues with the tank, my chiller runs far too often and it is night and day so I cant attribute it to the lights being on.

In the long run I also plan to change the skimmer which is also internal to a different brand that the the RSM forum users are changing to but its an import only skimmer so I'm going to have to fork out to import it and then still mission with getting U.S pumps to work in S.A.

Please correct me if I am wrong but "ceramic" pumps are supposed to give off the least heat so something that would be all ceramic would be the best, I heard that Eheim are all ceramic but when I browse their site I dont really see that on the pump size that I am looking at.

The RSM forum said either deltec or red dragon but I cant locate a deltec that is submersible or red dragon at all!.

so all in all, what is the best pump for the least heat and noise that is submersible that will fit in the back of my RSM 250

Aqua Medic OR2500 pumps the kind of vols you are looking for.
Its power consumption is only 38W, thats not going to heat your water up.

The tunze is only 30w then!

    Correct.
Tunze is another high quality energy efficient pump.
Check the various prices and pump efficiency curves to decide which one is truly better.

I never had any issues with the Eheims I owned a few years ago.
That said, I'm a bit out of touch with their current models and how they compare to Tunze or AM.

Thats my problem, I don't know how one pump compares to another or which is the best.
