I've had two SEIO prop 320's in my nano for about 6 months now. Recently algae started growing on the glass, a bit more than usual. So tonight I checked my pumps and the two SEIO were running in reverse. So sucking in water instead of pushing it out. So I cleaned them and then started them up again and all was perfect. 5 mins later I checked them again and they were going in reverse again. Took them apart and everything seems perfect and all is clean but everytime I turn them on they go into reverse after about 5 mins. I've got a SEIO prop 530 on the same multiplug and that one works perfectly so it isn't an electrical problem. Anyone got any ideas...

    Turn them around ;)

Never had it happen on seio's, only had them "freeze" a lot. Have a sunsun that likes to go in reverse sometimes but it still provides decent flow so not really worried.

Are they magnetic or suction cups - the reason I ask is coz I got 5 x M1500 (2 more on their way this week) and 4 x M1100 - only my 1 M1100 with a magnetic holder does this now and then - the others work 100% - so I'm thinking it has to do with the magnet - want to put the suction cups on that "troublesome" one and see if it makes a difference

I got about 6 months use out of mine before it went into the garbage. It kept shutting off. I took it apart several times to clean with no luck.

I use maxi jets. I don't use power heads with anemones. They are great for corals, but I keep anemones with all of my corals now. I use the maxi jets for mixing salt water and in sumps in the seahorse tanks. So, I'm not really looking for a lot of flow when using the maxi jets, although I wouldn't hesitate with coral. There is also a modification available for the maxi jets that has helped to increase flow. http://www.marinedepot.com/Ecosyste...eads-EcoSystem_Aquarium-EC4113-FIPHAC-vi.html

My anemone/coral tanks are ran by mag pumps from the sump.

So I seem to have fixed the one seio, I removed the cover and it seems to be working but the other one is still playing games with me. Everytime I leave it unattended it changes direction. Just a quick question, how tight should I tighten that ring that holds the shaft in place?

Two of my Seio 530 props also do something simular. Sometimes it will make a 'cluck cluck' sound continuosly while shaking.

Like if the polarity reverses on the magnet inside or something.

Sometimes I squirt a bit of air in the openings with my turkey baster and it comes right - other times I unplug them and leave for 30min and then all fine again.
    Very irritating!!

I must say maxi jets for me have been the most indestructible pumps... That and my old oceanrunner although I admittedly didn't have it for long enough to really test durability.
