Hi All

I have my first reef tank setup for about 6 months now. No corals yet.

I have
1 x yellow tang
1 x fire goby
3 x clown fish
1 x cleaner wrasse

Recently, I say in the last month some strange greenish brown blobs keep forming on the sand. I remove them but the next day there is another one and I get more daily.

I have tried to find out what it is but with no success. Please see the attached picture.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Guys.
Thanks for your replies.

I found out what it is. Turns out it is poop from my Yellow Tang.
I didn't think a Yellow tang could poop that big. I was watching the tank and noticed that my Yellow Tang was pooping and the poop dropped down to the bottom of the tank.
That's when I noticed that the blobs and the poop are the same thing.

Thanks guys.

I think your flow rate is too low. That shit needs to be in the water column eventually washing over the overflow to the sump for filtration. Not as a pile on the sand.
