    Hi guys,

I just purchased an RO unit & had a question about the storage of RO water.
I know that RO water should be kept in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
However I just purchased 2 x 20 liter plastic jerry style cans to hold the water and I noticed the "new plastic smell" from them. What's the best way to clean out ur holding containers? I'm worried about the initial chemicals that may be found in them.
Should I just rinse them out with regular water or should I use RO water? Should I add a bit of vinegar? I've heard that vinegar & water is the best to clean tanks & marine equipment.

Comments, concerns & suggestions will be appreciated.

My take is just rinse it with normal water and it will be fine. As you said its a "new plastic smell", so it will go away the more you use them. I know when things are new we tend to complicate stuff and try to be more cautious but at times the solution could be simple and the more you think about it the more complicated it gets. Just do it
