So I've just moved back to South Africa from New Zealand to live with my dad. I'm going to be getting my marine aquarium shipped over. I never ended up stocking the tank. The tank is 140cm by 60cm by 60cm and is 500 litters. Theres about 80 kg of rock in the tank. I was wondering about stocking the tank with a list that would take cost me a bunch of money. I was thinking something along the lines of
    •yellow tang (1)
    •hippo tang (1)
•clown fish of some sort (2)
    •maybe a foxface (1)

Could you please suggest any other fish and what fish I should add first.
Oh yea and the tank will be a reef tank

A couple of different wrasses would be cool. Here's my two. The melanarus takes care of most pests for me.

The melanarus wrasse looks amazing, do I need anything specific for them and also are they aggressive.
Could chromis work or a blue throat trigger.

They are such awesome fish! Just put a screen over your tank, they are jumpers!

You need a sandbed for them to sleep in as well. They are pretty chilled though with other fish. It took a while to get used to the other wrasse when I added it, but they are friends now.

Tangs tend to get aggresssive towards each other. But they say if you add them all at once it does help a bit. But I don't keep tangs. My melanarus is fine with about 3 cm. But some sites recommend 2-4 inches.

Okay thanks, I'll probably also do aboutique 3cm as I don't really want a very deep sand bed.

Forget the sailfin....awesome fish but very agro! My tanks dimensions are exactly the same as yours and one of the first fish I added was a sailfin and I regret it. Any fish I add now and it's like pitbull fighting

The one I had was wonderful, also the 1st fish I added to my tank, and was a monster in comparison to the others in size. Such a gentle fish, he never gave any other tank member a problem. Beautiful fish, and possibly the least likely to suffer with ich. My tank is smaller than yours.

Okay thanks, I've seen it in display tanks and always loved the colours and how peaceful it was in the tanks
