    Quick question -
Some of my marine tanks, equipment etc. that I had in storage was exposed to Doom "Room Fogger". I would like to use these items again but I am not sure what would be the best method of cleaning prior to use.

Is there a excepted norm when disinfecting and cleaning equipment before use. Appreciate any help

    Hmmm

Meths, Vinegar and clean out with RO Water?

Thats what i would do. But also i wouldnt chance it. I know silicone might leach some elements hence i would say strip the tank and redo the silicone.

Lets see what the other people say.

Let me know if you need help i'm in the same area.

The doom fogger worries me, I would contact the supplier to see how to clean that off, it may be biodegradable if you're lucky.

Don't worry about the silicon, the tiny amount that might be absorbed of anything will probably be there when you die and if any gets back into the water, it came from marine water anyway and will be removed by water changes immediately. Unless it contained some vicious poison do not fret.;)

Thanks Guys, I think it's vinegar, RO water and a good scrub. Judging by the effect the fogger has on insects and spiders I have nothing to fear :)

Did you put the seahorses in these tanks? This could be contributing to the deaths.

No there was no way in which cross contamination could have taken place. Remember the death occurred in three separate locations with three different people. Once again I am happy to say that the problem is "no longer" and seems to relate to bad packaging, high ammonia , ph burn and stress.

I wasn't sure if you had them in the same tank before spliting them up or not.

    Morning Timinni,

As luck would have it and because of responsibilities related to the future import the packets were distributed sealed something I should have mentioned. Although I was the only one making a lot of noise the others were suffering the same problems.

Either way Thank You for the consistent willingness to assist - truly appreciated

    Andre
