    That antique build looks good.
How did you paint the blue 'rust' look? I found an instuctable on the steampunk lamp, but it didn't explain the blue bit too well

I could make one of the valves dim the bulb, that would take a little engineering.
The greenish blue is just forest green and white artist paint mixed a little and applied thick.

The LED lighting system I built for my tank is also Steampunk. It is solid copper and water cooled. Water is pumped through the system and to a DIY radiator.

I am working on another Steam Punk Lamp. This one has fire in it (simulated but very cool) like a boiler. It will be painted like the others and I will add all sorts of "stuff" to it. I think this one will be the best out of the three.

Zippy, my birthday was Christmas Day and I was 68. I only look 30.
I was a construction electrician foreman in Manhattan for 40 years but before that I was a General Motors mechanic. I was also a plumber and I can build furnature. I built most of my house, built and installed 3 kitchens and 3 bathrooms. So far, I have never hired anyone for anything in my life, except dentists and if I could see in there, I would do that.
I was also a Sargent in Viet Nam

I wish that was outside my house. That was in Montauk Long Island on the Atlantic Ocean. We borrowed a house there for a few days.

I also do a little painting, mostly Supermodels but I did this for my Grand Kids.

My biggest problem is that I have too many hobbies and won't live near as long as I would like to so I can enjoy all of them to their fullest. :D

My latest Steam Punk light is really cool and I am very excited about it. Not as excited as if a Supermodel broke down in front on my house and wanted me to give her fish tank lessons, but excited none the less.
I have a working model of the thing and the fire looks really cool. There are a few ways I could finish it so I will do it in 3 versions and find someone with some artistic appreciation to give me their opinion.
I just need to paint it, put it together and wire it. I also ordered three different types of lamps to put in it. I can't help myself, I am a compulsive tinkerer. My hermit crabs are banging their claws on the glass now looking for food but they may have to send out for "Take out" as I am busy. :001_cool:

I almost finished the third Steampunk light it is 99.99% done. I ordered a different, antique bulb socket so this red one is temporary. This light uses a bulb that has 99 LEDs that flicker in sequence to simulate fire. It is very cool in person but the camera just washes it out. The firelight uses 3 watts. I am also almost finished with the fourth one which is built out of a vintage blow torch.

    Very cool lamps!
You should connect the leds to the rubber ball on the right, and make it so the harder you pump the brighter the lights get.

I was going to make it so that you squeeze the rubber bulb to turn on the lamp, but I didn't have a pressure switch laying around to make that happen. But it was my first idea.
Thanks, there are already many people here including a lighting store that wants them, but I am not ready to sell yet. I am almost finished with another one made from an antique blow torch.
SA is a little far to ship, I can hardly get my book shipped there. I don't think your mail system is quite that good and was told a lot of stuff disappears.

I just finished this Blow Torch Lamp. The little pump handle turns it on. I do realize I am getting carried away.
I am working on a smaller, blow torch lamp.
