    What is an STC1000 Digital Temperature controller ?

    This extremely useful gadget will greatly aid you in controlling your temperature of your tank can you not afford a chiller. Also protect your tank from heater malfunction and potential disaster. Features an audible alarm to alert you of any temperature regulation problems and prevent a potential disaster.

    Features:

    Switch the modes between cool and heat; Control temperature by setting the temperature setting value and the difference value; Temperature calibration; Refrigerating control output delay protection; Alarm when temperature exceeds temperature limit or when sensor error.

    Automatically Turn ON your cooling equipment when the temp of your tank rises above say 26deg

    Automatically turn OFF your heating when your temp of your tank hits 25 degs.[/COLOR]

    Extremely easy and simple to use.

    We all know that these can be bought elsewhere we would appreciate this not discussed in this thread. Many of us prefer to buy local and have the support on a product.

    Buy online here: Temperature Controller STC-1000 | Reef Aquatics, Online Aquarium Store in Cape Town, reef aquarium equipment, marine fish and corals

    *** Why not ensure extra safety with overheating precaution as this controller takes control over your heaters thermostat. Should your thermostat fail this little piece of kit will prevent boiling your salty pets **

    Selling now for R375.00 reduced by 22% for winter ONLY - Stocks are going FAST WE ONLY HAVE 5 Units Remaining....

    Hi Guys,

    I own this awesome piece of kit but have yet to connect my heater to it (currently only have my fans on it) , I know there was a discussion somewhere on the setting of same to allow for down time so both fan or heater remains off to save electricity. I currently have my temp set at 25 degrees and the delay at .5 degrees, so basically my fans switch on only once 25.5 is reached and switch off when 25 is reached. I assume once temp goes down to 24 then the heated comes on.

    My question is what temp, delay time and heater setting should I aim for in order to ensure that the heater and fans are not constantly on trying to compete with each other. I hope its is clear and hope it enlightens others using it.

    Apologies if this is not the correct platform to ask this.

    @Hammerhead
    they will not fight each other if both heaters and fans are connected to the stc-1000. If your temp variance is set to 0.5 degrees either way and say it gets to hot and the fans come on and start cooling the tank, once your desired temp is reached, it is extrememly unlikely that it will still drop by another 0.5 degrees in order to trigger the heating circuit.
