Has anyone connected his to both the heater and chiller or do I just connect it to the heater and let the chiller run according to it's own thermostat?

Hi Bendor, this might be a stupid question but why is a cotroler necessary since the heater and the chiller has their own thermostats?

Heaters especially are unreliable. The cheaper ones can get stuck in the "on" position and cook your tank. My first heater heated my saltmix to 40 degrees, my second heater swopped from 23,5 to 27 degrees with the slightest adjustment. The more expensive heaters are better but this provides me with peace of mind. No matter how broken the heater, this device will only provide power to the heater when it's much more sensitive temp probe says it's needed. Also you can add a fan over your sump on a higher temp to cool your tank when it gets to hot.
