    Welcome!!!

unless you are a very competent DIY person i would not attempt this as my first tank build..... what dimensions are you looking at? and what bracing, glass thickness etc are you looking at ?? give us some more info and we can help you through the process !!

p.s. writing in capital letters is considered shouting in a forum like this...;)

A VERY WARM WELCOME to MASA, Bell! Great to have you on-board!

Please tell us what you are planning w.r.t your tank you want to build? What size tank (dimensions)? Sump? What design?
Have you thought of what skimmer you are going to get?
    And lighting? Water flow?
What test-kits are you planning to get to test the water with?

Good luck with your journey into marines, mate! It sure is a FANTASTIC and really addictive hobby - one that FORCES you to learn a HUGE amount of life under da sea.... teaches you about water dynamics, hydraulics, plumbing, electricity (and what electricity and water together means ;)), marine biology, water chemistry, etc.... etc...

    Enjoy it!

Welcome welcome - check out any large byilders (the one in Rivonia for one) they have really good glass prices - but check with the thickness calculator as I think you gonna need 10mm

Hey Bell most tanks that size are made with 10mm glass, so i would not worry with 12mm

Just to add , my experience has taught me that your sump size depends on the equipment you would be using, for example a 900mm sump may be inadequate if you goin to use an in-sump skimmer.

hell bell, welcome to masa :)

its great to hear about your plans for building your own set up. Thats really exciting and good to hear that you back youself to do it. Its not what i would have thought is as easy as it looks, so start a thread in the DIY section of the forum and the guys that have done the tank builds themselves can help you plan and seal it all up.

i would suggest looking at star fire glass, where you get it i am not sure but the clarity is astounding, also using black silicone IF you are neat and good at silicone is great. its a real ugly mess if you are not neat though.

great to have you here and ask all the questions you think of:)

    welcome and happy postings
