    Howsit guys

I was wondering if I could start my QT already at hypo salinity or do I have to get the salinity right and lower it slowly.

    Thanks:thumbup:

start the quarantine tank at the same SG as where the fish is coming from. Slowly reduce the SG to hypo levels over 3-4 days. Going back up to normal should take around 8 days.

Hypo is 1.009 to 1.010 specific gravity.

Do you have a refracto meter? If not, first get yourself a proper one.

How long do you plan to have the fish in hypo?

    Thanks Riaan

I currently only have a hydrometer.I'm looking for an affordable refractometer.

I've given my sick fish to someone who has a QT running because mine is still cycling so this is more for future referance
