    Hi all,

I started up my new tank on friday and everything is running smoothly, I only found out after buying the tank that it qualifies as a nano tank and I read that nano are for the veterans of this hobby...

So I'll need all the help available on this forum to make this work.

I'm waiting for my test kit so that all the important tests kan be done, and I will post all the readings for review by the more knowledgable ones. (please excuse the spelling)

I'll upload pics as soon as I can load it on my pc

P.S. Hope my thread is on the correct forum...

Hi, Just wanted to let you know that I opted for the live rock startup rather than the lava rock.

The tank is an 800 x 300 x 300 mm setup with an overflow into a 400 x 490 x 300 mm sump. The water runs straight into a container with 250ml seachem matrix (previously used) and into a skimmer chamber with TS1 skimmer, (not running during cycle stage. should I Switch it on during cycle?) Straight into return chamber through extra filtration media.

I have a couple of live rock in the main tank, with some dead rocks that will hopefully seed.

1 x SEIO 530 Power head with 2000l/m flowrate, and thats about it.

Yeah run your skimmer won't do any harm, keep monitoring your levels and enjoy as you watch your rock literally come alive.
I personally have a 1.5m tank sitting in my garage waiting to be setup and have totally fallen in love with my nano, to the point that im not sure i want to set up the 1.5 haha

At the moment I'm running the skimmer for about 2 hours per day just to get rid of all the unwanted stuff.
