Starfish in your reef tank

    Hey Guys, does anyone keep star fish in there reef tank, witch ones are safe. read up that you need to Acclimatize them very slowly, see a cushion star in rock pools I caught this bright red orange star but let it go in the end last want to make sure it can serve and live in my tank with corals before I get one

    I have a sand sifting starfish that does a wonderful job and cushion stars. They are breeding in my tank.

    I keep brittle Starfish.....Have a few and they don't touch a thing.

    So does anyone have any idea on this star fish? really looks good would be a great addition to my tank

    Cushion stars do great in a tank. Mine got babies... :thumbup:

    Anyway, for ID on that red star. Maybe @Lord_Blackadder can help out.

    Thats a red sea star Fromia milleporella, its reef safe, the easy to see rule if reef safe is the top of the starfish, if it has knobs then its more inclined to be predatory example chocchip starfish

    Just no buying Harlequin Shrimps when you have star fish. If you like your star fish of course.
