So my stand is starting to rust quiet badly especially on the side where the return pipe comes down was having alot of salt spray there because of bubbels (sorted that issue out now). I know ideally would be to get the tank off sand repaint etc. However this is a 2.7m tank and that is not going to be an easy task. Any advice to try do this without having to move the tank?

If the rust is just surface rust and hasn't rusted completely through then you can use "hammerite direct to rust"
Clean stand well and use plascon rust converter. Then paint over with a top quality enamel paint.
