    Hi guys.

Where is JHB can I find someone who can modify my stand? My current one is only 600 high and would like to add another 500 onto that.
I need someone who can make the top part and then just weld it onto the bottom.

    Thanks
    Marius

that make the stand 1.1m high, are you 7ft that you need such a high stand?

It also may be better to make a new stand than modify an old one, depending on sizes.

With the current one only 600 you look down into the tank. At that height you stand and look straight into the tank. It also gives me a lot more space under the tank to fit in stuff like an ATO tank of 65L as well as a big algae scrubber and another 65L tank that will be either my QT or propagation tank.

Marius i agree with lIghty. Better to get a new stand. You might end with issues leveling the two and cracking the base or panels of the tank .

Just remember, on such a high tank, you would need a lot more bracing compared to what you would you have now. I think making the current stand higher would make the stand a lot more "flexible". And it depends a lot on your current tank. What size tank do you have. Also I think that if your tank rim is at 1.5 to maybe 1.6. Then it is the best.

Just under my armpit. So no steps needed to reach into the tank. Yes, we should keep our hands out, but ... there is always something that fell down and... whatever...

The tank is 1500L X 600W X 700H. Water level will be at 620. Tank is heavily braced 75mm eurobracing made from 10mm glass and a centre brace of 175mm.

Sorry Marius, I'm talking about STAND bracing. I got a standard 1,2 on the standard stand that you can buy at "normal" pet shops. And when I clean the glass with a towel, the stand moves. It flexes and I will never trust it if I have to make the legs longer. I have to put in bracing on the stand. Or better just build a complete new stand.
