    Hi guys,

Just bought a Aquaria AMW 102 Nano-Reef tank. It does not come with a stand.

Does anyone have one available? Tank size is about 620 * 420.

    thanks!

That should be perfect - do you know the dimensions (length width)? What you want for it? You can PM as well.

@Dillan - if you and marshall does not come to an agreement and you can get your stand in Cape Town I'd also be very interested in it.

It looks like a Boyu HS60 stand (much firmer than the typical 550 stands). Very interested in one as the typical Boyu stands are not toddler / small child safe ...

Thats the one I want! (But happy that Marshall has first dibs). I'll take second dibs if you can get it in Cape Town.

@marshall - just double check the dimensions on your tank. I suspect the 620mm side will not fit on the stand as the Boyu is only 570mm. Maybe Dilan can measure the actual stand.

Letting your tank hang over the sides of the stand is not advisable. (I know I have a vested interest here, but you are welcome to check with the senior forum members).

Its 6 months and 2 weeks old lol I know this as my tank on it burst this weekend and the glass guarantee is 6 months :(

Make me an offer, will include courier to Isando where you would need to collect it.

Cool. Thanks for the heads-up Marine007. Its a 50mm difference though - so only 25mm on each side...do you think it will have that much of an impact?

Since I have a vested interest here - rather post this as a question under New Members, or in the private forums and let one of the senior forum members give you a view.

I personally would not risk it - my understanding is that the stress it will place on the glass at the bottom would be increased a lot.

IMO, any area where a tank is not supported, is a risk. Especially on the sides / corners of a tank. This is due to the fact that lack of support puts extra stress on the seams, and you do run a risk of leaking or cracking.

The same goes with uneven support, e.g. using chipboard or supawood or something similar that swells out with time due to water spillage. This provides uneven support, that can lead to unnecessary stress on the seams of the tank.

The bigger the tank, the more critical sufficient support..

Just thinking about it, it probably depends on whether you measure at the lowest or highest point in the curve.
@Dillan - if @marshall does not take it, would you have any way of getting this down to Cape Town? (Don't mind waiting for months).
