As far as I know, it is never a good idea to place a stand on these.

    unless its a nano, no.
The inside of the plug side looks like the thread is cut directly into the plastic.

Rather get yourself galvanized steel bolts, M10 or M16.

@RiaanP; Want to use it on a 500 x 500 x 480 cube... so its a no go??? So you would recomend M10 or M16 steel bolts for the 1,5meter stand... how many leggs will you give the stand???

using 50mm square tubing, 3mm wall thickness, 4 legs will be fine.

M16 bolt, with nut welded to the frame. With hole drilled before the welding process, so that the bolt can go through. use 5mm thick 50*50mm steel plate (or bigger) under the bolts to spread the weight. Else you will push the bolt head into the tiles or whatever as you adjust them.

Huh? I'm confused. Are you perhaps putting the cube on the 1.5m stand?

If only for the cube, then this will be overkill as it will only weigh in the region of 150kg (200kg max) with water, glass, live rock, included - but let's wait for him :p

I've used them on a 550L tank with 6 legs.

well, first post say 1.5m tank.

Not sure if these feet will be strong enough with 1.5 m tank, with matching sump that have about 1m length of DSB. That wet sand is heavy...

What @RiaanP said.. I have the mettal ones on my 1.6 m stand, over a year now, no hassles.

But, you need to go stainless-steel..mild steel will eventually rust and then you have a problem.

Check my photo albums, or even my tank build thread, Have some pics on there with the stainless ones.. its on the first few pages :p
