    it simple...
I only want to use the unit for min time as I only stock filter feeders in my tank…they live of the plankton and waste in the tank…by skimming to long you remove these food sources from the system and that creates the scenario where I have to ad micro food to the tank in order for the survival of the tank inhabitants…and that creates wastes I don’t need ... the result for that is nitrate and phosphate buildup and water changes which I do not want…at the moment i do a water change every 3 months or so and my nitrates runs between 15/25...i feed my fish every morning and nite and spooil the crals once a month ...the moment i feed the corals once or twice a week my nitrates go up...and this couses me to do more water changes...
I want to do a test with the system to see if skimming does make a diferance to water quality as every one say it does...if i have to do water changes like the industry expect ...why would i need gadgets to keep the water paremeters up if i do weekly or bi weekly changes??
