Cool,thanks...whats up 4 grabs?
MR is a bit of a sacred spot to locals. Wait for LOW tide and pay attention to small rock pools. Good luck and remember you will be coming back when u're better equipped to have success next time.

I would have thought since St. Lucia is a Protected reserve that it would be illegal to collect from there. Or is it only Cape Vidal?
2ks South of Vidal is a beacon, south of that you can catch
NO guys you can collect from misson rock I have been there for the past 4 years and i always have a permit. !!!!!
Just get the permid from the KZN office like I said before please don't douth me I know what I am talking about PLEASE
What ever you can find thats nice like zoa or algea or fish just not coral !!!!
Are u in st.lucia
Mission Rocks falls inside a Marine Reserve. You are not allowed to strip the rocks (although a lot of us did that at some stage) nor are you allowed to collect any specimens from the reserve. ML, please get your facts right before you write such things on an open Forum.I deal with Parksboard on an almost daily basis, and you cannot get a permit to collect stuff.
If you want the Number of the head of Parksboard in the Cape Vidal,Mission Rocks Marine reserve to verify this, please feel free to drop me a pm
Ok, I've done some home work on this, my findings are from the LMRA, MRB and the Rec MPA Map.
As far as I can find it is legal to collect (fish and inverts as per the MRB permit list and regulations) from Mission Rocks, as long as its done southwards of the N4 marker, anything northwards is a Marine Protected Area.
Sean IS correct by saying it falls inside a Marine Reserve, however, anything south of the N4 marker, Including Mission Rocks, does seem to be excluded from the Restricted / MPA / Sanctuary Zones.
If you do get caught, please don't say "But Lighty said it was OK", its aways best to confirm with the local authorties.
I agree lIghty, The parks board officer mentioned one should look at the different signage at Vidal and Mission. If one reads it properly you get the same massage as given by you in the previous post.
jinx pm me your contact detail if u are still around, it will be lovely to meet you at the beach.
