Awsome man. How are you plannng on dealing with the heat?
thanks
I was wondering about that,,, I would like a 150W MH as I can use it when I upgrade (finally) to my 80x80x60cm tank (with aditional 4x39W T5's)...

maybe i should look for a 70W rx7 double ended MH instead...

150w shouldnt add to much heat, mine is 30cm+ and all is good

thanks

What lighting do you currently have on the tank? If it is T5's. Leave it that way. Your SPS will thrive under T5's.

Hi I'm not using T5's this is a pic of my 90l JBJ Nano Cube with the standard PL 2x 36W 10000K/blue that came with the Nano.

I intend to light up my new tank 80x80xh60cm with:
1x 150W 14000K MH (BLV?)
4x Fiji Purple (Blue/red spectrum) T5 24W (sorry not 39W)

Eish that is going be loads of light :)

Could keep a clam if the parameters are kept stable

Oh sorry, I thought it was on the 90l.
On the 800*800*600 I would say 1 * 250W SE Mh and then your T5's.
Personally I wouldnt go for 4 fiji purple. The ratio is 2 whites, 1 fiji purple and then go for an actinic.

okay so:
1x 250W MH 14000K
2x 10000K T5 24W
1x Fiji Purple T5 24W
1x Actinic T5 24W

OR
1x 250W MH 10000K
2x Actinic plus (Giesemann - 22000K)
2x Fiji Purple

OR
drop the MH and only T5

3x10000K
3x14000K
2xfiji purple

?

I had that exact ratio and found it made the tank too purple, replaced one of the whites with another blue. Brings out colours really nicely now.

okay

then I'llk stick to the first option, although i went a purchased 2 fiji's oh well one will be spare...:p

Loving the Tank.

I got 4 T5's and 2 X DE 150W 10 000K.

The T5's are REALLy bright. maybe check them first?

How high can you mount the Halides? Mine are about 10cm above the water (no other option) and it's definately a heat issue.

Got 4

Just was a bit of a shock when I originally put the halides in so I try warn everyone.....and then warn them about the evaporation once you put the fans in:whistling:

Lol. 4 must be hectic evaporation. My 1 uses about 12l of my auto top up in 5 days. Think its a good thing though having a constant flow of fresh RO going into the tank.

Mine's about 15L in 3 days. Like you said, it makes me add alot of Kalkwasser :)
