This morning I woke up to a soccer ball sized white sps. All my other sps are fine but this was my first sps and now it is gone. Kind of makes me sad as I really liked this one. So I'm thinking of changing from sps only to sps and lps. Just wanted to find out what everyone else thinks: Should I just keep on with the whole sps thing or should I start buying lps. I'm just sick of worrying that I'll come home to RTN or something. At least with lps the colour is always there, no worrying about dosing everything just to get a hint of colour out my sps.

nothing wrong with a mixed reef i think, maybe with the heavier feeding your sps will just be less colourful.

Still going to run relatively low nutrient but may go for digis as they hardly ever go brown.

add LPS rather than softies bud, i see you've been listening to what i have been saying about the monti caps and digi, im not changing a thing and still going monti dominated! they easy , never really fade in colour and are fast growing!

Manic, you dont think it could have something to do with the Biopellets?

I'm not sure, if you read my other post my magnesium was 1150 which is really low.

I have a strong feeling it was the Bio pellets dude. I ran Mg lower than 1000 at times, and all was fine. If I were you, I would pull those pellets out and go back to NeoZeo, your system was running well with it. These pellets havent being around long enough, people IMO are still experimenting with it. I would give it another year at least before even thinking about using it.

The coral was suffering from STN on the base which started whilst running the NeoZeo method. The tissue loss was in all different places this morning, coral looked patchy. I've put my Zeo reactor back though, will run both of them.

Manic don't you think all these different changes are the cause stability is king? changing to new methods all the time can't be good?

I don't use the pellets any longer. I am running my tank as natural as possible.
