    Hi guys

So, I just bought a stylopora, and it came with what google believes is a honey comb gaurd crab. Now I still have the little guy in the bag, so can either add him into the tank with his coral, or get rid of him....

My question: are they benificial to the coral? And will they destroy any of my other corals, fish? etc

    Thanks

Have you got a pic of it?
acro crabs are beneficial for the colony, they keep the coral clean and get rib of any dirt and predators/parasites that might take an interest in the sps.

smooth carapace usually with band around eyes = harmless. "Furry" carapace with beady blue eyes = sump it.
The furry kind seldom inhabit styloporas, as they prefer eating acropora. Most likely it is safe.
The ones with honeycomb pattern generally live in stylos and are safe.

Hey man, funny that you posted this. I took out one from my Birdsnest lastnight along with a pistol shrimp. The base of the coral is/was turning white where they were moving around. They now live in a small chaeto:blush:
