    Hi guys.

I have now ventured into the tricky world of SPS.
I just installed a reactor with Bio - Pellets, to help keep my water quality up there.

My question has to do with the flow in the tank.
    I have 2 seio prop 1500 (4000 L/PH) and 2 sun sun somethings rated 5000 l/ph.

currently I have one of each on each side of the tank blowing towards each other.

The question is they are blowing directly over the SPS, and I have a feeling that on the sides, close to the pumps, this might be a bit too much linear flow.

Would it be better to raise the pumps to blow over the corals, and let the turbulance sort the flow over the SPS out.. (in other words not to have any pumps blowing directly on the reef, but rather over it, and hope the resulting flow in the tank is enough for the sps?)

Come on SPS Guru's help me out on this please.

    Tnx!!

    Niel

Hi there, my Seio prop 1500's are rated at 5800lph. Are you sure yours say 4000?

Hi Nsteyn. Try and let the pumps face the glass, that way, the water will hit the glass hard and then disperse over your corals more gently. Not too much direct flow on the corals causing any strain or tissue damage to the SPS.
