    Hi Tyson

My fox face had this two days after I got him, about two weeks ago. I fed him algae flakes and nori soaked in the Seachem garlic and within two days it was all gone and he is 100% now...

Thanks. He was like this about 3weeks back as well but only for 2 - 3 days but nit as bad. Went away and this morning i noticed it again just much worse. I did put herbtana in this afternoon and some carlic in tank water. 1 drop for every 50L. And he is still eating as if he is the only one in the tank. I also adjusted the temp up to 27.

Hey tyson, increasing your water temp will not help at all for marine ich as it is totally different to fresh water ich.It will only harm your corals at the end of the day.

You can boost the fish by feeding it garlic in his food and so on but this will never cure the ich in your system, it will only help your fish to build up resistance and be less effected.

There are a few ways to deal with this but none of these way includes treatment where corals are present.

1st way would be copper bases treatment in a quarantine tank.
2nd hyposalinity in a quarantine tank where you will drop your sg level to 1010 over a period of time.Be warned not to do this in your reef tank none of your corals and invertebrates would stand this.

Other main aspect to remember would be to keep your main tank without any fish in it for at least 8 weeks. This will cause the ich do die because they cant find any hosts.

After all of this remember to quarantine all fish even if they look o.k, because they will just reinfect your system.

    How is the foxface doing?

Do you perhaps have any long tentacle corals that could have stung the foxface when he slept?

Ho riaan. The black spots are all gone but are still giving them some medication. Yes. I have a torch and a frogspawn. Both quite big. But he usually sleeps in a cave next to n chilli coral

Yes. He is eating the same as always and can't see anything different in behavior. The only thing was the black spots. And all the other fish seems to be fine as well.
