    Hi Marco

Could you let me know if my Reefmaster is taking a bit long to fill my tank or is that the correct speed.

Basically i started filling up my tank on sunday night. And its 3/4 full. Its been running non stop. My tank dimensions are as follows. 1200 x 450 x 450. So its 243L.

Sounds a tad slow but it could be to bad water pressure or high pollutants in the water in your area. What you must do now is flush the membrane. There's that little white valve and it has a lever that should be perpendicular to the valve, turn it ninety degrees. The water to your tank should slow down and the waste water speed up like mad. Do this for about ten minutes

Time it and see how long it takes to fill 1l. Then you can compare it to its rating.

Cool will see if i can find this valve. basically it has 2 outlets. The healthy water and the 0 TDS water for the tank. I will see if i can find this valve. I think its a tad slow also.

Shaun its much slower than i expected. But lets see maybe its the bad water in my area. This is the first time i am using the unit to fill my tank.

Yip if it is too fast start to worry about TDS etc. 150-175 ltr per day is ave for your ave unit - not that any Water Boy units are average.

On the waste pipe as it leaves the membrane housing it will split into two pipes, one with a gate valve and the other with e tube of sorts (not sure of the name). You need to turn that gate valve from being perpendicular to the tube to run in line with the tube

Check your RO unit specs. I got a Deltic D+D Ro unit rated at 190L per day max. So with good water pressure, new membranes etc, It will take its time.

    Your flow rates sounds fine.
Human willingness to wait... well thats another story

Maybe Marco can give us a guide to doing this.

sorry for the late reply, but i somehow did not reads this thread.....somedays im logged on as marco, other days as the waterboy and i forget to swap:p

firstly what unit do you have.........
    a reefmaster
or a reefmaster evolution plus with the resin?

i need to know this in order to find out if you have got a flush valve.

the unit makes 50 gpd.....thats 190 litres per 24 hours
7.9 litres per hour........at 25 degrees and 4 bar prerssure.

you should have a constant trickle or extremely fast drip.

    let me know
if you need, feel free to call me direct on 082 879 39 43:yeahdude:
