Hi guys, was just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues. I have noticed that as soon as I dose special blend the skimmer goes from producing thick green foam to nothing in seconds. And does nothing but fizz uselessly for a day or so and then still takes a few days after that to come right. Stability on the other hand has little effect on my skimmer efficiency in fact often it makes it better.

Any thoughts guys? I have no doubt it is a great product maybe I have a bad batch?

I have never had this issue, maybe @HenkHugo can help out

Are you not dosing/feeding anything else befor the special blend?
I know my skimmer stops producing foam if I put my hands in the tank to long, or i feed frozen foods enriched with oils

I have been experiencing the same thing . Definitely a lighter skimmate. Could it be a dilution of nutrients perhaps. Never thought anything of it and i have been using it for a year and i am happy with the product.

Interesting, surely with it being a bacteria product it would do the opposite, though? One would assume that with the proliferation of beneficial bacteria in the water, consuming wastes, multiplying and then dying, the skimmer would go mad removing them and their consumed wastes with them. Like what happens when we carbon dose?

    Hi @Drewton,

It is due to the bacteria consuming the wastes etc. hence there is less muck for the skimmer to skim out.

I think if it happens as soon as you dose, it means oils in the product, I have found the same with anything oil based, especially with powerful skimmers, as soon as you put your hands in even, it takes a while to build up and the oils to be removed,
