Hi guys, I should have done this long time ago.

I am in need of two pairs nice looking ocellaris clowns.
It is worldwide experienced by other breeeders, that from 10 mated pairs only 2 to 4 pairs finally start spawning on a regular basis.

So if your ocellaris pair is spawning on a regular basis, please help me out and send me pictures of your pair. I am not interested in mated pairs as I got myself a mated pair which spawned twice and ate their eggs.:(

I am willing to pay for the fish and shipping and I am willing to replace your pair later with offspring from yours.

If anyone has got a spawning pair of onyx clowns, Black and white ocellaris or any other rare clowns, we really need to talk.

Clowns are known for bad shipment and often they come with diseases. So please help with establishing local clownfish supply!

    Thanks and regards

    Marcel

i think that the chances of anyone parting with a happy pair of desireable fish are very low

Okay, this thread is not for capetonians only.
If you are located around Dorry Pets Pretoria, speak to Lanzo about it. He will arrange the shipping of your SPAWNING PAIR.

Please guys, we need to get this going as the survival on arrival of wild caught clowns are very low and they usually come standard with some nice diseases.

Your pair can make the difference. The offspring of your pair could supply the whole south african market.

There is a mated and matured pair of Black and Whites somewhere in Durbanville swimming around. I was told, the owner does not want to give the pair away.
Sad enough, I think it is more important to get a steady supply of locally captive bred species going, instead of having a nice spawning pair in your tank and the fry gets wasted.

Please, forget about the beauty of your spawning pair and think of their babies you would get in return (besides payment for the pair).
I can replace your spawning pair within 6 months, not a problem.

I agree! I wish everyone felt this way. I strongly believe fish that can be bred in captivity on a regular basis should not be removed from the wild, except for breeding purposes, by those knowledgeable in dealing with the disease that comes with WC.

Of course, I'm sitting here staring at a tank full of pregnant seahorses! :whistling:

Good luck on your search Marcel, wish I could help.

I just had a chat with Trev. He told me one of the cape town reefers has got a spawning pair of ocellaris, but he is not willing to sell the pair.
Guys, it can't be that I am producing albino clowns as the only breeder worldwide, but I'm not able to supply the south african market with stink normal Nemos.
With your spawning pair, I can produce up to 1500 Nemos per month to supply every single shop in SA.
To make it more interesting for you, I offer R1000 for a good looking and spawning pair of ocellaris and if you want, you can have the mated pair I've got on top of it!

So now come up with your pair!

I never had a pair of Mandarins that did not spawn.
If I want a spawning pair I buy any pair.

. pity you cant get any clowns to pair up and spawn, it really seems that it is a luck thing or a time thing(raising from small to develop pairs) or a cash thing(lots of fish). suppose that would make you a luckyfish with your albinos(ps are they geneticly stable? or do you think they are genetic throwbacks?

It is a time thing and a luck thing. It cant be cash thing, because for R1000 I could buy 10 pairs.
I got two pairs of damsels and both spawning regulary.
The albino strain is genetically stable!
If you got a stupid male or female within the pair, then you will get no spawn.
Thats how it is with every breeders broodstock.
