This is excellent, I find recreational collecting adventures by others very interesting, the more pics of that the better!
With every trip and find comes invaluable education on the marine habitat and its inhabitants.

Way too many collectors there IMO. Chances of finding something good are very slim.

Going by some of the muppets I've seen there, I don't think you want to see their tanks. Either that or check the dodgy LFS where they're flogging anything with fins or legs.

Don't think they're collecting themselves, but they're not asking questions about where stuff came from.

Saw a group of 3-4 guys that I didn't recognise in the water on the weekend collecting everything with fins and trying their very best to get in my way. Had to hand out a few "accidental" fin kicks to the face until this one fool got the message.

It is such a shame that a few will screw it up for all. Just for a few bucks.... Or ignorance....

I love to see tanks where the reefer has collected the inhabitants. Those are the truly passionate reefers. But those that take out what they can not knowing how to keep, get my back up. It is just greed. And to sell what you collect is another issue ...

Dam I better go and watch the tennis before I say something I should not.

I was there 2 weeks ago and loved what I saw. But we need to clamp down on people that just take anything and everything.

Yeh, but there is always a slim chance of something good, you just have become better at collecting then the others!

Lets look at the only two other options, make it illegal for recreational collecting there, which leaves all average folk out completely or reduce the earths population, greatly!
Hopefully the first won’t happen because shoreline-collecting ads up to nothing environmentally harmful, that is if that rock is turned back over to where it was originally!
The next, well that’s not going to happen, lol.

I think its great to be at the shoreline and see others trying there hardest to find a nice specimen, makes for great conversations and you feel part of something greater then your self.
Of course it would be great if you/I were the only one to go there and get that great catch each time, but then we should be on a desert island alone and always have the best catches, that’s not being a part of society is it, it’s just selfish and it would drive you crazy being so alone!
That being said I do not tell any one out side of our club about sites I know, they can find that them selves, but when I find others at those sites, I always say hi.
There will always be the few who make I hard for the many like sellers of collected gear and fin sin faces, that’s a given in society!

    More pics guys!
