Hey guys! Something is eating my Zoanthid's tenticles and I don't know what. I did a fresh water dip on all of my zoanthids for 5 min to get rid of unwanted pest a week ago before I added them to my display. I fear It might be the fish and I also fear that they might get poisoned. I think It's the Tang because he is grazing allot.

    Fish
1 Convict Tang (the size of a matchbox) I think It's the Tang coz he is grazing allot.
1 Blackspot Sergeant (the size of a 20 cent)

    Tank
    50 liters
    2 Aquaclear 50 HOB filters
    Heater
Live rock (I don't know how much but, It takes about 30% water volume)
    No sump or refugium

I know It's a crappy tank but, I'm slowly building It up (getting my refugium and pumps on the 15th of this month.)

PS. It's only the one colony of zoanthids that is affected

A pic of the zoas would help.
How long have you had the zoas and when did the tentacles start vanishing?

I will post a pic tomorrow. I have had them for 2 weeks now and their tenticles started to vanish about 3 days ago. Everthing is being eaten in my tank even my sponges. I know It's the Tang coz I can see him pecking on everything in my tank but, I'd never think that he would peck at my zoas. I'm trying to look for those zoas eating spiders and can't see anything. I want to remove the zoas but I have no place to put them.

Convicts are not known to peck at corals. The grazing is normally the tang eating bits of algae between the corals.
If you say other things are also dissappearing, then it may be a water issue. What are your parameters?
