    Had a peacock mantis for two years & smeagol was a blast to watch when I added some freshly caught shrimp or crabs fo live food...

    Sore fingers yes had plenty of those even lost my nails a few times. But awesome little buggers. The scarey thing was it's tank was only 6mm thick glass & not once did it hit the glass, that was my biggest worry.

    i can believe it yes. was looking for a video where it can break the glass, but the one that was on only struck once and didn't crack the glass. guess he wasn't going at full velocity. so i took the one with the clam instead. its hard and it properly shows the damage that it can do

    Nobody has proof that a mantis can break glass but all know it probably could do it. Personally I think it's a old wives tale as seeing is believing.

    A little 50L is fine to keep one!!!;) But I'd make it a little bigger IMO.

    they are cool, they can break 4mm and heaters, they have been known to attack the red light that turns on and off

    @dallasg is this also because they are not use to the red light? not being tank bred and being wild from the start?
