    crispin, I use a Canon 1D mark II N with a canon 580ex flash with a difuser

    im looking to upgrade camera at the mo and not sure if i want to go 1d mark iV or 5d mark III. so much to read up on.

    How do you guys use the flash for additional lighting? Where do you guys place it and what diffuser are you using? Are you using a radio transmitter for firing it? Please tell me your secrets.

    Now that is a tough choice - for me, it would be the 1D mark IV (but I shoot mainly wildlife).

    Hi Marius, flash is direct ontop of the camera (works when using a macro lens) and the difuser comes built in with the 580ex flash -biggest secret is to photograph in RAW and then process correctly in your conversion (white balance, contrast & remove in colour cast etc - especially yellow colour cast) Hope that helps?

    Lastly, I always photograph at night & every other light in the house is OFF

    Thats AMAZING!!!!!:eek:

    I haven't tried taking pics of marines(I dont have a tank YET) , but freshwater wasn't easy. I have a Canon 450d and I think I should get a good macro lens now.
