Awesome Tobes! Many thanks! I hope that the "newbies" joining MASA read through this and adhere to what's being said!

Maybe it should be added to an email when newbies register on MASA.

    Hmmm clever man. Thanks Tobes

1)I hope those of you using UV'S will now keep the device strictly for hospital use:)

2)And those starting new tanks or replacing or removing sand beds. The bacteria in the water column has little if any beneficial use. The bacteria is on your rock and sand. The shock that corals can go through by doing huge water changes is grossly exaggerated. (NB: salinity aeration and temp) If you are doing some serious adjustments to your tank follow with big water change and carbon.

    3)Carbon is a given

To me, the only debate about using carbon is really how much and how often you change it.

True. I would suppose that perceived organics and chemical warfare pollution is a thumbsuck. What i do feel quiet strongly about are the Sarcophyton family. You have them, you need carbon.
