hi quinton and welcome to masa:) thats a nice looking tank you have, well done so far:)

can you give us the domensions of the tank and get some pics of the filtration area. I think there is room for improvement in the sump to be honest as it looks like you might have some excess nutrients, although thats hard to tell from one pic.

also what sort of flow do you have inside the tank, perhaps that could be upgraded with the lighting so that you can branch out into sps as well?

    welcome and happy posting:)

be more specific with the equipment you have. ie: make and rating of your flow pumps.

I would say for a start, get rid of the bioballs and ceramic rings. this is old technology and tends to trap detritus or dirt which decays and causes high nitrates, not good. seems you have way more than enough live rock and substrate for bacteria to grow. that is basically what bioballs and ceramic rings are for so you dont need them.

you need to change your bulbs. either your bulbs are very old causing the very yellow colour or they just the wrong kelvin rating. what bulbs do you have and how old are they?

as far as upgrades are concerned, think thats about it. your skimmer looks decent. how often do you clean the cup?

what are you running in the reactor chamber next to the skimmer?

    are you running any carbon?

I think in general your tank is good, the water quality looks ok as from what I can see your corals look healthy.
