sohal tang prices

    hi everyone

    for how much do sohal tangs roughly go these days? did anybody purchase one recently? price?

    Atilla - I don't own one. This is the reason why: Average price - between R1500 (if you REALLY LUCKY) and R5000 (on the high end of the scale)....

    i heard they r rather aggro? besides that how difficult are they to keep??

    No - I don't believe that they are too difficult to keep. I have seen one in two tanks already in the past. I watched them for about an hour each time. And I could not see any aggression to ANY of the other tangs in these tanks.....
    They were both HUGE (nearly as big as my regal - slightly small).....

    how big is yor regal? and how big is the tank that houses them?

    My regal is about 22cm...
    The tanks that housed the 2 sohal tangs, was both 1.5 metre. But, the were also both about 900mm high, and 1 metre deep front-t-back....

    WOW Scuffels! That is CHEAP then!

    no Achilles tangs available right now so you'll pay BIG BUCKS for one if you can find it....heres a list i posted a few weeks ago of some red sea fish that became available to us,doesn't happen often though....dont think these available to the lfs's anymore....

    Zebrasoma Xanthurum Purple tang - Stock 10

    Acanthurus Sohol Sohol tang - Stock 50

    Pomacanthus Marculosus Mac Angel - Stock 5

    Pomacanthus Asfur Asfur Angel - stock 10

    Chaetodon Semilarvatus Semis B. - Stock 10

    Chae. Larvatus Larvatus Butterfly - Stock 1
    Chae. Mesolocus Meso Butterfly - Stock 1

    i know my lfs had some purple tangs that he ordered of this list.going for around R1300...

    Just a word of caution these fish get HUGE. i saw 1 in Adriaans tank and that fish looked magnificent,

    they are stunning fish,but is best to add last in the tank
    prices will normally differ from R1000-R2000 depending on when you buy them

    how big is your tank. I would say that you need atleast a 1.8 or longer

    that fish is in a 2m tank in the uk
