    After my recent move 3 months ago the tank is settling down and everything is looking great. busy making plans to add a carbon filter and a algae scrubber. Any and alladvice is always welcome.

    difficult question to answer if we dont know anything about your tank. Give us tank specs (as in filtration, equipment etc), current water parameters, current livestock and then what you ultimately have palnned for the tank. Then well be able to advsie you on what you need to add.

    Tank Setup

    Display Tank:
    280 L water with live and cultivate bio rock. (approximately allot of rock)
    4 cm Sand Substrate

    Sump:
    130 L water with more cultivated bio rock
    17 CM DSB would want to introduce mangrove when possible.
    2 Jager heaters
    Big ass protein skimmer
    Bio ball chamber

    Corals:
    Soft corals mostly
    To much pulsing xenia taking over

    Fish:
    3 x Green Chromis
    1 x Yellow Tang

    Cleanup crew:
    6 x Hermit Crabs

    I also use NSW and dose with seachem products only.

    Tank looks good. See what you mean about the xenia!
    Are you running any macro algae in your sump? Algae scrubber will help keep nutrient levels in check.
    I wouldnt bother gettting a carbon reactor, rather run activated catbon in a filter sock in your sump.

    No macro algae yet, would like to add some soon (still need to find some)
    Ok thx on the carbon reactor, I will get some activated carbon and a sock. Can i use the activated carbon from the pharmacy?

    Rather get activated carbon from a pet shop. Think the stuff they sell at chemists is far too fine.
    Let me know when you need macro..i should have some available soon.

    Xenia :)

    It started with one colony with 5 branches, for some reason they just dont want to stop growing. Will get rid of them soon at R50 rand a pop for the frags and R200 for a rock and forest. Do you guys think this is fair ?
