Yesterday I let my dog out that a friend bought for me to keep me company. I found a leash with an empty collar at the end when I went to retrieve her! She's been missing for a day and a half. I don't know if someone took her off or if her collar came lose. I miss my little friend!!!! :012:

awww thats really terrible:( sometimes little furry ones go off exploring on their own and come home after a while, they have great navigation skills so lets hope thats the case:)

i really hope it comes back :)

do you have a picture of it?

Unfortunately she is only 9 months old, and still has that "puppy" brain. I've had her since she was 7 weeks old. I've been digging for pics and can only find the ones when she was really small......Ok, she's still small. She's only 5 or 6 lbs. But she is a black and brown pure bred long haired minature dachshund.

Tomorrow her story goes on the local radio station and in the news paper. I've been lucky enough to have good friends at the police department and fire department who have been looking for her.

Thanks guys! I lost my last dog 27 months ago. He was 10 1/2 years old. He came down with liver disease. I was told he only had a few months to live. I researched and found a different diet. A few months later he fell down the stairs. I was going in for back surgery, so I dropped my dog off at the Vet. To the amazement of three doctors that said my dog was not going to make it, he somehow overcame liver disease against the odds of science. Unfortunately because I took him off of the arthritis meds he was on (because of the liver disease), arthritis set in so bad he had to be put down. But he lived a year longer than he was expected to. Science is great, but not always the answer.

Its really difficult not having those big brown eyes! :(

I am really sorry to hear about your missing dog, and I do hope that it will be found and returned to you soon. Such a young playful dog, especially without a collar, could end up being taken by a well-meaning Samaritan who would think that he/she is rescuing a stray - in this case, at least the dog will be in good care, even if it is not returned.

Lucy has been found!!!!! Yay!! I'm so happy!

A friend's 15 year old daughter spotted her walking with a mom and her kids. The mom and kids were going door to door trying to find her owner!

They found her weaving in and out of traffic on a very busy road! Yikes!!!! I am very lucky she didn't get hit.

She is so exhausted at the moment, she has the strength of a cooked noodle!
