Hydatina physis, bubble shell. They eat sand dwelling polychaetes. If you have an in-display DSB they should survive. I've grown some super tiny ones to max size over about 6 months, but they only live about a year. If you have large grates on your powerheads they can get sucked in quite easily.

They are beautiful. But unless you do have a large matured sand area, they will die eventually. They are specialist eaters, and it is not easy to feed them. Next time, please ID first before you take them out the ocean.

I also had one of the slightly rarer species in my tank for about a year. Must have come in a few mm long with my local live sand. 6 months later it was huge. Have a pic of my own somewhere but will have to dig it out...here's one from the net. Hydatina amplustre:

My bubble shells have laid eggs, my live sand bed is in places 8 cms deep they spend most of the day moving just under the sand and come out most nights with the moonlights on, they look happy and well i think they eggs will be fish food latter its nice to see, thought i would share. They laid the eggs in an area with high water flow.

    Cheers
