Snail Id needed

    Looks like part of the Strombidae family.

    Which one it is I'm not sure as I got South African snail books and that is most likely a Red Sea snail.

    Strombidae are detritus feeders, nice smails to have. He will hide almost under the substrate with only his eyes sticking out. If Strombidae, you can confirm by putting the snail upside down. They can flick themselves upright very very fast. do not look away or you will miss it.

    Just beware the operculum. The back part of the lid that closes the shell when the snail retracts into the shell. It is very sharp and can cut you. They are fast and that is the way they defend themselves against octopus. Same operculum they use to flick themselves upright.
