So while we want to control the nutrients in our system, sometimes we might not have all the ratio's in the correct balance and limit ourselves. Walk in Titanium Bio-Cubes, these will remove my nitrates even if my PO4 is non-dectable, then walk in Nitra-Guard Bio-cubes that will remove my nitrates when PO4 is available, but ratios are now a concern and what if i am showing no PO4 but now what if my PO4 starts to climb and i cannot get GFH in there in time, or dont want the hassle or algae to start....

I was thinking of a "Smart Bomb", a mix of Titanium and Nitra-Guard, so that my end result is the removal of NO3 irrespective of PO4, now if there is PO4 Nitra-Gaurd will kick in and start removing both, and when it removes all PO4 they will hibernate.

what you think of this approach, @irie ivan @KillerWhale

I dont know so much.... My thinking..... Titanium removes nitrate irrespective of redfield. I suspect they would however remove some PO4? Cubes remove nitrate and phosphate according to redfield.....
So, cubes will still become nitrate limited for PO4 removal?

what i mean is by running both, then this would be a sure fire way to combat nutrients

Just taking a swing here but:
If Titanium Bio-Cubes removes Nitrates (not redfield restricted)
And Nitra-Guard Bio-cubes removes Nitrates and Phosphates (redfield rules apply)
Then would the Titanium Cubes not remove all the Nitrates therefore no Nitrates left for the Nitra-Guard Bio-cubes to remove Phosphates according to the Redfield Ratio

yes they would remove, but the nitra-guard cubes would "activate" when phos is present, and since we having a mix of cubes we would make a ratio that suits the system

I have 500L tank, and stocking at 2ml per 100L, so i have 750ml titanium and 250ml nitra-guard and will play with this to see what works, but i do know that if PO4 rises i can change or add more nitra-guard or add GFH

I think you would still get a removal of both. You must remember that when PO4 is extremely low and that would set the ratios right...do you smell that? Is that another late night with a test coming?

Plenty tests and experiments, these products are so robust and efficient I want to put them to the test and show others that we can reef in 22nd century in Africa :)

Someone just do it, I would, if I could get my hand on Titanium and then stop my NO3PO4-X dosing, the stuff can get tiring to dose, and going away next week, have to place my daily dose into pill boxes for my house sitter, the guy already thinks I am crazy!;)
