Ive got the reef octopus bubble blaster xp1000 last week but just cant get it to skim correctly, when i have the water level at 13cm in the sump, waht they sugest, when the valve at the outlet is at almost close the water will just reach the bottom of the collection cup, when i open it more the level will drop back to the reaction chamber! Ive raised the water level but it is skimming very wet and overflow the whole time, is there any one who can give some advice on this skimmer? Ive run the skimmer for a week now.

My one skimmer took a month to work and it only started working because after a month of irritating me I put it in a vinegar solution and ran it for a few hours. Ever since then it has been perfect.

    Hi Konrad
Make sure that the outlet is above the water.

Post a pic so that we can see what is the problem.
And what is your bio load at the moment? It could be that there is not enough bio load for the skimmer to work on. I have the XP2000 internal and I have to switch off the skimmer at times, since my systems is only 4 months old. Also the depth and gatevalve plays a big role in the type of skimming you want.
