Skimmer?

The skimmer needs to rated for your tank size or larger, rather than it's output.

On a 290l system I would recommend a skimmer rated for +-340L though a skimmer rated for 600L+ would be what I would recommend!:thumbup:

arab - This is all relative. My tank water is currently +-870 litres, and I have 2 x TS2 skimmers rated at a combined 1500 litres per hour....

Some people have skimmers that are "rated" about 4 to 6 times their tank water volume.....

This all also depends on what type of pump you skimmer has, and how fine the bubble production is (and how much bubble production).

A skimmer works at it's best if the water contact time with the bubbles can be maximized......
