    Hi,

Is my skimmer to deep or low in my sump? Tank is 7 weeks old and not skimming well at all. Overflows bad and top just fills up with water no real skimming. Can I lift it up so that the round spungy thing surfaces out the water? This seems to reduce overflow problem but not sure if skimmer will work efficiently. Can't really find an operators manual or pics on how this skimmer should be setup. 'Reeftek TS1 Skimmer'

I've been told that for a TS1 your water level should be sitting at somewhere around 300mm.

How high is yours sitting at?

Hi pon tang the water level should be just below the reeftek lable on the skimmer and adjust the water in the skimmer to be just below the pee hole on the side of the skimmer n it will work well

Use a nice piece of polestyrene to lift it up,or buld a stand from egg crate;)

+1 for using eggcrate too raise the skimmer.
Mine also sat with the water level just under the reeftek sign(Was a TS2 though), with the water level just below the overflow hole

or just use 3 or 4 short pieces of PVC, lay them flat and place the skimmer on top of them. That would lift the skimmer by 50mm.

I do not use those silly donut sponges. My outlet is just above the water level by about 10mm. So no splashes or noise due to the water coming out.

Are you talking about the water lever of the sump to be below the label or inside the skimmer water? I set the level of the sump water to be on the bottom of the letters of the label

Hi guys interesting revelation yesterday. I checked my invoice and apparently I was charged for a TS2 skimmer not a TS1 skimmer. So my TS1 is going back today and getting a new TS2 today. Back to square 1 !

At least you checked the invoice. At least not all the way back to square one. the TS2 works the same as the TS1, so same operating depth
